The Republic of Mozambique is located in southeastern Africa, and its capital, Maputo, is a beautiful city known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. About 30 million people live in a land area 3.6 times that of Korea, and it is a country rich in resources such as natural gas and graphite. Korea and Mozambique established diplomatic ties in 1993, and after the discovery of large-scale natural gas, Korea Gas Corporation entered Mozambique, and in November 2021, President Filpe Nyusi visited Korea to attend the FLNG departure ceremony. The two countries are strengthening cooperation in various fields, including economy and development cooperation. The Honorary Consulate of Mozambique strives to promote and protect the rights and interests of Mozambicans residing in Korea, and to develop economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
